Every cashier opens a register before selling, with an Opening balance. The sessions page lists cashier, warehouse, when it opened, opening, expected and closing cash, Variance and status (Open or Closed), and shows how many sessions are open and closed today. Open a session to see opening balance, cash sales, cash in, cash out and the Expected amount, with every movement. Managers can Force close a session.
To close, enter the Counted Cash and press Close Till. The difference from expected is the variance.
Cash Register PRO#
An add-on that upgrades the register. All earlier history is kept.
Register dashboard#
Shows registers open, cash in drawers now, closings awaiting approval, and over/short for the last 7 days. For each open register: float, Expected now (sales, cash in and out and safe drops so far), and quick actions Close, Safe drop, Cash in and Cash out / payout with a reason (for example float top-up or petty cash). A register over its drawer limit is flagged Over drawer limit — safe drop.
Open and close#
- Open register: choose the till and enter the opening float, counting notes and coins if that is switched on.
- Sell as usual.
- Close register: count everything in the drawer by notes and coins. With Blind close on, the expected amount is hidden until you submit.
- Add a closing note, for example “100 note damaged, kept aside”, and submit.
Approvals#
A closing whose difference is above your tolerance waits for a manager. They see expected, counted and difference, then Approve or Reject (a reason is required for rejection). You can't approve your own closing. Closings that match, or fall within the tolerance, are approved automatically. A history shows recently decided closings.
Denominations#
Define the notes and coins used for counting. Add a value and type (Coin or Note), hide or use each one, or Load a currency set to replace the list with the standard notes and coins of a currency.
