Getting started

Requirements

Check your hosting before you install. Almost every installation problem comes from one of these items.

Server#

Item	Requirement
PHP	8.2 or newer
Database	MySQL 5.7 or newer, or MariaDB 10.3 or newer
PHP extensions	bcmath, ctype, curl, fileinfo, gd, intl, json, mbstring, openssl, pdo, pdo_mysql, tokenizer, xml, zip
For one-click updates	The sodium extension (to verify update signatures) and zip support. The update page checks both
Web server	Apache or Nginx. Point the document root to the `public` folder
Scheduled tasks	A cron job that runs every minute
Writable folders	`storage` and `bootstrap/cache` (permission 775). During installation the main folder must also be writable so the `.env` file can be created
Memory	The installer raises the limit to 512 MB while it runs. Ask your host if installation stops half-way
HTTPS	Strongly recommended. Required by online payment gateways and webhooks
Internet access from the server	Needed to activate and re-verify the licence, check for updates, send mail and SMS, and reach payment gateways

The installer's first step runs all of these checks and shows which item fails.

Tip

Not sure about your hosting? Ask your provider: “Does my plan run PHP 8.2 with bcmath, gd, intl, sodium and zip, and can I add a cron job that runs every minute?”

Browser#

Any current version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. The POS terminal works best full screen on a tablet or desktop. A second screen can show the customer display.

Optional services#

Service	Used for
SMTP mail server	Sending invoices, reports and notifications from your own domain. Without it the server's default mail is used
SMS gateway	Customer SMS, reminders and payment-link texts
Payment gateway account	Taking card and wallet payments through payment links
Cloudflare Turnstile keys	Optional CAPTCHA on the sign-in form. See security
Google or Microsoft app	Single sign-on. See security
Courier merchant account	Pathao, RedX or Steadfast booking with the Courier Pro add-on
